PRESS RELEASE
Good Things Come in OCNJ Packages
Packaging Solutions for Corporate America

ORANGE, NJ -- Large cartons filled with hundreds of Crisco Oil bottles are on skids awaiting shipment to local Costco stores. Some packages waiting to go out are tiny, like Faerie Elaine’s magic dust. Others, like Mary Kate and Ashley cosmetics, are meticulously arranged in cardboard sleeves before being packaged and sent to adorn the shelves of Wal-Mart stores. In the clean room, gloved and masked workers measure and package powders that will soon be transformed into dips, soups and salad dressings in the kitchens of homes throughout New Jersey.

This packaging and assembly work – “OCNJ Packaging Solutions” -- operates at OCNJ’s facilities in Orange and Bloomfield, utilizing 300 workers in more than 125,000 square feet of production and warehouse space for a wide variety of projects. The complete range of services offered – everything from design and job layout to packaging, bagging, sorting, collating, sealing and labeling, shrink-wrapping and shipping – gives OCNJ clients the chance to actively participate in the workforce under the guidance of supervisors experienced in bringing out the best in each individual.

“Our operation is designed to accommodate and train our clients while satisfying the quality and production needs of our varied customer base,” said John Mastrull, Director of Production at OCNJ.

Companies with widely-recognized brand names like ShopRite, Tiffany’s, and Revlon, as well as mom and pop shops in a wide range of industries, including manufacturing, advertising, marketing and fulfillment, have come to rely on the hands of OCNJ clients to assemble and package their products and get them to the marketplace. For more than 50 years, the operation has relied on workers who diligently apply their varying capabilities to assembly work, and supervisors who bear the responsibility of assessing and training the developmentally or physically disabled workers, all while satisfying the needs of our customers.

“Matching the abilities of our clients with their tasks is the key to our success,” said supervisor Robert Duignan, who boasts that companies rely on OCNJ Packaging Solutions simply because the job is handled efficiently and on schedule.

“We are enhancing the lives of our clients and their families by enabling them to work, while our customers are getting the job done at a fair cost and on time. It’s a win-win situation.”
